Patch Testing

Patch tests investigate allergies caused by direct skin contact with allergens and are usually carried out for forms of contact dermatitis. The only exception is when patch testing is performed for patients who need metal implants. Patch tests do not detect dietary or inhaled allergies which may result in asthma, hay fever, or hives.

Patch tests are done over a 5 day period and require 3 visits, the first two of which will be at Wood Edge, 172 Norsey Road, Billericay, CM11 1BU.
